<IMG SRC="arl-title.gif" ALT="TITLE" width=200 height=300> Arlington, Massachusetts -- a town not far outside of Boston -- used to be a pretty decent place to ride flatland. It's central location made it easy for Eastern Mass flatlanders to get to, and it's mostly-unused bus depot parking lot was a good place to ride undisturbed.

But all good things must come to an end...well, not really an end, since we often still ride there. The parking lot has become a place for moving vans to park, leaving it oil-stained and dirty. The building next door is being torn down, adding to the dirt, dust and debris that litters the ground.

As rider (and Arlington resident) Sean Maher put it: "This town is going downhill...fast." But until we come up with a better place to ride, it'll do.

Plus there are more people traffic. Most of it is from the nearby bike path: mountain bikes and rollerbladers are a common sight. But there are also an increasing amount of insane people: weirdos walking by muttering to themselves, smashing glass bottles as they pass; dirty little kids wreaking havoc on the moving vans; and strange people spending a lot of time picking berries from nearby bushes.
