 t's been a while since the last Pepperell contests, so when Jesse Hicks (who helped organize them) called to tell me of a Pepperell jam to be held early November, I said "Count me in." Should've known better than to get too excited about seeing everyone again and riding for a couple hours: it rained. There was talk about postponing it until the following week, but nothing came of it. Good thing, too: it rained again. And the next two weekends after that brought snow.
