MORE RAD RULES OF THE ROAD

  1. START SLOW AND PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
No hot shottin' till you've mastered the basics and don't take any foolish chances. Remember, even the aces work out and practice daily.
  2. DON'T RIDE OR STUNT ALONE—ADULT AND/OR PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION IS ESSENTIAL
  3. TAKE TIPS FROM THE PROS.
Check out BMX and freestyle "how-to" videos, professional trick team demos, and local training centers. Want to know where they all are? The American Bicycle Association, the National Freestyle Association, and all the BMX mags — BMX Action, BMX Plus, Super BMX and Freestylin' — have all the names, dates and places.
  4. DON'T BE A BOZO—BE STREET SMART.
    • Obey traffic regulations
    • Bike on the right side of the road
    • Wear hot colors by day and bright by night
    • Keep reflectors and lights on your bike for nighttime riding
    • Watch the cars
    • Don't ride double
    • Check for wet pavement, loose gravel and other road surface conditions
