X-up air at Over the Boarder

« It was January and this was a good excuse to get out and hang out with some riders for a while, and shoot photos and some video while I was there. (Some of those ended up in another story; the rest are here.) It was good to meet some of the younger street riders, 'cause so often I don't get to actually talk to them at contests. So in an effort to get to know some of these guys, I decided to interview Jon.

I've seen him ride at Impact before (though I obviously didn't know his name), and after watching him ride at Over the Boarder — as well as talking to him and finding him a nice guy — I thought it worthwhile to get his name out...

Age, home, years riding:
17, Southbridge Mass, almost 5 years riding. I got my first bike on my 13th birthday (Hoffman Sugarbaby).
School/work:
Senior at Southbridge High. I work as a Cook up at Annie's Country Kitchen
Sponsors:
Religion BMX Clothing, Odyssey and Sotar/Goatwheels
How did you get started riding?

My good buddy Jason Stone got my dad to buy the bike for me, then I started bunnyhopping curbs ... I actually started out as a flatlander ... then I found out what a ramp was.
People you ride with:
Lino Gonzales, Josh Remian, Josh L'Orange, Chuck Goldy, and the rest of the Southbridge locals
Describe the scene where you live.
We have an awesome street scene! The locals out here rip it up: big hand rails, large gaps and super tech tricks. The riders here are super cool, you could almost say we are family.
What's your favorite style of riding?
Myself, I would say park/ramp riding is my favorite. I love going huge over the box and just cranking around the park, boosting the quarters and doing things most people don't think of doing!
