What got you started with your site?
No more time to make a xeroxed 'zine but still had stuff waiting on the computer to get published. Talked to Jos Wissink who could put the stories and pictures on the internet. Jos is our webmaster still and does all the technical stuff that I don't have a clue of.
How long have you done your site?
Since 1999 (?)
What do you want to accomplish with it?
Keep BMX real, say things they are without pressure from sponsors/advertisers.
Put friends on the internet.
Keep in touch with everyone who loves the BMX bike.
Be a source of information.
Favorite riding site(s)
Sites that get updated on a regular basis like BMXonline, expn.com, hsacentral, bicycle retailer.
Favorite non-riding site(s)
Some motocross sites like MXO.nl and MXLarge, Yahoo to look up stuff and the local newspaper.
Future plans for your site
Keep going the way we're going. In the month of June we scored an average of over 1000 unique visitors per day. We've got over 5000 subscribers to our monthly FATBMX newsFlash now and that list is growing too. It's good to see that people actually come and visit the site. Since I'm unemployed at the moment it would be nice if it was possible to live off of it at some point. Advertisers can contact us. Thanks.

Since I've only got a 28.8 modem, my Internet connection isn't very fast...but I like to see websites with good design. I like abstract and
experimental stuff. Usually I just surf by and never come back, but some of the sites stored in my favorites are: Submethod and Surfstation
Future plans for your site
cover the Norwegian Championship in bmx freestyle that is going to be held in August, creating a forum, and setting up a streaming server
Yeah! the sun is shining outside... I'm going out to ride flatland!

Site

What got you started with your site?
Originally, I just wanted to make a good quality site with regular content that gave flatland it's fair share, but still covered all aspects of riding. But I realized I spent way too much time at work surfing around my favorite riding sites to see if anyone had updated their site. So I figured that I would add Gravy to Backlash links to other sites which have updated recently. This way, everyone could spend more time riding and less time on the web.
How long have you done your site?
Almost 3 years, since early January 1999.
What do you want to accomplish with it?
A few things give riders a site worth visiting everyday Daily Gravy; have original content that tells it like it is; help riders that are new to the sport and with The Backlash forum help riders meet other riders. I just want to make a good site that helps other riders out.
Favorite riding site(s)
So many... eWire, Fat and The Flatlander are the ones I look forward to visiting the most. Basically, any site that has something to say and says it well.
Favorite non-riding site(s)
2-pop.com and creativeplanet.com for video editing and graphics stuff and Apple to nurse my consumerism addition. I use google.com for any other surfing adventures. I really miss the old Icebox.com too, the new one is a savagely neutered version.
Future plans for your site
Keep serving Gravy on a daily basis, moreproduct reviews and the store will be replaced with an editorial that I will be writing to vent about things that really piss me off or get me stoked. There are some other ideas too, probably another redesign around Christmas too. The current design is good, but not great. Backlash will continue to evolve.
