Some of the young guys you talked about earlier; who are some of the specific riders now that when you see them on a ramp you almost want to challenge them? I guess I should reword that: who are some of the riders you respect now that are good that don't appear in Ride magazine?
I was going to say John Wausik, but he appeared in Ride, so scratch that. Riders I respect are pretty much anyone that I ride with that are just doing what they want to do, having fun.

Is there anything that you used to do that you now say "I can't do that anymore"?
Um...flatland (laughter).

I say that too (laughter). When you were working on the movie "Space Jam", how did you fit in the filming schedule with your basketball training?
Well, it was kind of rough but I had people plan these things out for me, so I just leave it in the hands of my people and do what they tell me to do.

So far these questions have worked, but now I think they're starting to suck... This year, the Bulls have undergone some major lineup changes. How much input did you have into the makeup of this club that we're going to see in the next season?
Well, I really have very little input (laughter). I've had almost no contact with the team this season. In fact, I...wait, is it even basketball season?

I think so. This next question makes no sense to ask, so I'll just reword it a bit: Um, have you enjoyed riding this past year?
Yeah, the little bit of riding I've been doing. I've been kinda working a little too much to enjoy it. But I'm looking forward to this winter [in Florida] and next summer, too.

When you look at new riders now and the potential they have, does it remind you of when we were starting out? Or is it different these days?
I think it's definitely different. Like I said before, the people they have to look up to and the example that's being set is a lot more advanced than it was, say 10 years ago.

Is that a good or bad thing? It's a lot to look up to — it was easier to live up to Fred Blood.
I guess it's a good thing. But we had excuses in people like R.L. Osborn and Fred Blood to fall back on. Not that they weren't good back in the day...well, except for Fred.
