knapsack
Day Three of My New Life
I was quite impressed on first hearing knapsack: imagine Jeremy Enigk (of Sunny Day Real Estate) singing for Samiam or Jawbreaker, and you get the idea. Powerful indie rock/punk with lyrics sung/screamed with a lot of emotion and intensity. The songwriting is good: catchy but not overly simple, but not so complicated to be self-indulgent. And the very full-sounding production begs you to play this album LOUD. "Decorate the Spine", "Thursday Side of the Street", "Simple Favor", and "Henry Hammers Harder" are some of my favorites, but all 10 tracks are good. If you're into any of the above bands, definitely check out knapsack..
