One of my favorite riders, Kurt's also one of the funniest and coolest guys I know. Kurt can link a front wheel string forever despite having the most hacked up grips known to man.

A couple weeks ago I was on the bus with my girlfriend and this rather burly looking young man gets on the bus. I had my feet in the aisle and I guess I didn't pull them out of the way fast enough (OK, I didn't pull them away) and this seemed to have upset the young man.

He kept trying to stare me down and stuff the whole bus ride. Then before we all got off at the last stop he points at me and shook his head in a rather disparaging manner, so I thought that for sure he was going to release his potential energy in a fist-like way upon my noble body. (Well maybe it is more dough-like than noble, but you get the picture.)

So I pulled an "Oh jeez, my shoelace is untied and I'll hurt myself for sure if I try to negotiate these unkept city bus steps with poorly kept footwear" — and stayed on the bus crying like a sissy 'til he got off and left.
